ACNE SCAR REVISION

SUBCISION
Subcision is a simple and safe procedure used for treating depressed cutaneous(Tethered) scars. Subcision is performed using a special hypodermic needle inserted through a puncture in the skin surface. The sharp edge of the needle is used to break fibrotic strands that are anchoring the scar to the underlying tissue.

TCA CROSS
TCA CROSS meansTrichloroacetic acid chemical reconstitution of skin scars. It works by stimulating collagen production within the scar or pore, to increase the height of the scar. Ice pick scars- best treated with TCA CROSS and NOT laser resurfacing.

MICRONEEDLING
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that involves puncturing the skin with multiple needles, creating micro-injuries which will trigger collagen and elastin production. It is generally a safe and effective procedure that can improve the appearance of the skin, reduce wrinkles, diminish acne scarring, and tighten or rejuvenate loose or aging skin. Topical products applied directly after microneedling can be better absorbed, making them more effective.

PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a rich source of various growth factors, including vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF), epidermal growth factor, and platelet-derived growth factor which stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin, helping to reduce the appearance of scars, leaving you with brighter and smoother skin. It is a natural treatment that doesn’t require artificial fillers or chemicals. PRP is obtained through the centrifugation of patient’s own blood, which separates white and red blood cells, leaving high concentration of beneficial growth factors in the plasma. Improvements usually notice after a few weeks of receiving the treatment as the collagen and elastin start to restore. The skin will appear plumper with the appearance of scars beginning to diminish. In view platelet-rich plasma is derived from your own blood supply makes it an effective procedure without the risk of side effects or rejection from your body. Results will be better if PRP can be combined with fractional CO2 laser as they react synergistically and as well as reducing the downtime of laser due to PRP’s healing properties.

DERMAL FILLER
Injecting filler carefully into the skin underneath atrophic scars lifts them and improves the overall look of skin blighted by acne scarring. This can be done by either individually targeting pitted scars with a plumping filler or approaching an entire area with a lighter filler. Hyaluronic acid fillers (HA) stimulate collagen production. Dermal filler gives good immediate results with no downtime which will continue to improve over the next few months. This improvement occurs as a result of collagen stimulation due to the stretching of fibroblasts with the dermal filler.

REJURAN-S
Rejuran Healer is a rejuvenating skin treatment made of biological molecules called polynucleotides (PN) derived from salmon’s DNA fragments. Rejuran-S is more concentrated and viscous in texture, making it unique and ideal to rejuvenate scars (depressed and sunken scars) and provide immediate volumizing effects on depressed area. This treatment improve the appearance of acne scars by inducing collagen production and scar remodeling. It is combined with subcision commonly, making them more effective.

FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER
Fractional CO2 laser is a very powerful and effective laser for skin resurfacing. Its high absorption by water makes it a very effective laser to ablate through skin layers, giving coagulation at the same time. Penetration of Fractional CO2 laser causes multiple micro laser wound in the treated skin region (Fractional Resurfacing), leaving healthy tissues around the micro wound to aid in faster recovery. As the wound heals completely, there will be improvement of skin texture, skin tone and skin tightening due to the thermal and ablation effect of CO2 laser. This treatment is ideal to treat rolling acne scars.
